Initially inspired by a precious elegant tern we met at a wildlife rehabilitation center, who was a victim of the tragic drone crash incident in May 2021, our collection is further enriched by another stunning Elegant Tern we had the pleasure of meeting and photographing at Crystal Cove Beach in 2023.These stunning pieces capture the elegance and natural beauty of the elegant terns while highlighting the threats they face. From their magnificent black crest to their shiny orange bills and vibrant white and rosy feathers, each piece in Rubellite’s Collection—from the painting colors to our customized fabrics and fashion designs—resembles the precious beauty of elegant terns. Elegant terns are currently classified as "Near Threatened" (NT), signifying their vulnerability to becoming endangered in the near future. Turquoise the Persian Cheetah is one of our original paintings, inspired by a magnificent female Asiatic cheetah named “Delbar“. Created in 2017, this artwork sparked a collection of functional art pieces to share her beauty and to raise awareness of the protection of the Asiatic Cheetahs. These exquisite pieces capture the elegance and the magnificent beauty of the Asiatic Cheetah while highlighting the critical threats they face. From their gorgeous colors to incredible intricate patterns, each piece in Turquoise’s Collection—from the painting colors to our customized fabrics and fashion designs—resembles the regal beauty of Asiatic Cheetahs. Asiatic Cheetahs are critically endangered, with possibly fewer than20 left in the wild.

From her gorgeous caramel crest to her incredible bill and her true grace, each piece in Pink Tourmaline’s Collection—from the painting colors to our customized fabrics and fashion designs—resembles the precious beauty of the Pink Tourmaline the Pelican. The California Brown Pelican, federally protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, once endangered by DDT, recovered after the pesticide was banned in 1972 and was delisted in 2009.

Inspired by a beautiful Western Gull we met and photographed at a wildlife rehabilitation center, who had suffered from entanglement in fishing gear and saran wrap, and had ingested a fishing hook. Fortunately, she was successfully rehabilitated and released back into the wild. These stunning pieces capture the grace and natural beauty of this precious Gull while highlighting the challenges she faced.
